. . . . . . there is no edge to openness

OPEN FOR BUSINESS, OR CLOSED

Friday Apr. 6, 2018

Opening Pandora’s Box is scary, opening any box (or can of worms – the container doesn’t matter as much as the opening) will likely be a surprise – and the opening of our proverbial vests can reveal/disclose so much more, for the world to see, and to see ourselves …

Is that a good thing?

Easier, I think, to ask whether ‘not opening up’ is a good thing – which it rarely is.

Keeping things inside doesn’t give them air, and we choke ourselves off. Keeping things inside limits us many ways. But, remember it takes nerve to open up, courage to reveal what’s inside.

Also, good to remember, that when someone opens up to us it is at least ‘being a bit brave’, and more likely demonstration enormous courage. We should encourage that in others. And in ourselves.
