FEELS LIKE PLAY
Friday Apr. 15, 2016
The world will not be worse off IF YOU DON’T WORK TODAY!
And yes, I SURELY WILL be better off if you do. Right?
Either way, the world WILL BE better off if you laugh.
So, laugh.
Play.
But hold it …
Which problems must be solved – the economy, our climate, my workload – for every client, every friend, every group we feel emotional or obligatory tugs from and every for whom life is unfair?
Read today’s news – barely anything touted as good, or happy.
Everyone arguing – re-jigging what is wrong in every society, economy and commodity – like a ‘rearranging deck chairs on the Titantic jokes day’, until I realize it sank 104 years ago today.
That’s funny. OK, not funny, but amusing …
Or …
We step outside – inhale freshest mountain air.
Or take the day to play.
Deep inhalations, another cup of coffee – rational serious practical thought prevails:
Lists of tasks, incoming calls, incoming tangents of opportunities, ideas, bright ideas, better ideas, urges to pursue, friends to call, appointments to keep. Plans to make, trips to take, dreams to dream, naps to take. Oh my, must make room for laughs. For me. For you. We can’t forget to laugh, even when nothing is funny.
Funny, a little self-chuckling about our modernity, our fast pace, our human race, reminds me how many times I’ve tossed dung against proverbial walls, tilted at inevitable windmills.
Most things don’t stick, don’t fly …
Some did.
Some do. Some will.
Despite periodic fatigue moments, tasks and dreams and schemes contribute more to my youthful energetic feelings than to difficulty.
I’m working, and laughing.
Feels like play.

morning walk: 1C/34F, calm, light clouds with high risk of sunshine! Gusta had six dog encounters – much wagging and straining on leashes. A good sign I think for a day for vigorous efforts, and play!
