LAUGH DAY

Thursday, Apr. 16, 2020

I like to laugh.

I think everyone does.

Sometimes we laugh at a funny story, or something strangely amusing that happens to someone – even more amusing if it is something embarrassing that happens to someone we don’t like, which is mean-spirited, I suppose. But, if we really don’t like them …

Back to laughs – a favorite of mine:

Malcolm Gladwell breaks into song

Laughter, seriously, is an essential part of our lives.

Today, just for one day, let’s ignore the news and laugh instead. It doesn’t matter what we laugh about, but laughter is vital.

It’s a good idea to do every day, but for now, let’s ease into it, one day at a time.

Reader feedback:

LIFE EQUALS RISK
Good morning...I like the optimism in your words, we must adapt and move forward. Perspective is everything tomorrow is as uncertain as it was yesterday, AG, Cancun, Mex.
Mark, not to get too negative, but, from what I’ve read, all the things you mentioned do cause health problems. We accept the “small” risks for progress (?). We were warned about, at least the possibility, of this pandemic coming. I can’t think of how this is related to materialistic progress, but maybe it will wake enough of us up to get back to some of the positive things in life that we’ve allowed to be eroded for far too long. I certainly hope we can keep the damage, lives lost, to a minimum. LH, Lethbridge, AB
