Stimulus, encouragement, momentum …

Time away from office on weekdays is always a delicious opportunity to catch up with calls to friends, colleagues and ‘folks I’ve been missing’. Catch-up calls, meeting clients, touring real estate … working is so much like playing when having fun, working a great project – round trip to Edmonton, side trip to Fort Saskatchewan for dinner with Carla and Chad, visit with grandkids, trip home aided by caffeine stop in Red Deer. Sleep has proven elusive overnight – part, buzz of great day, part “we’re out of Pike roast, so can I make you an Americano?”

I blithely replied, “OK”.

Substantially sleepless nights are sometimes caused by worry, this one wasn’t. Sometimes caused by a great day, a great evening or a great drive on a beautiful day – by a spectacular spring sunset, but mostly I think it was the great day I had yesterday. I’m still in a buzz-state, though I’m sure I’ll be ready for a good nap after my workout at the gym.

To Alex and Isla – it’s always a joy to see in action, to Carla and Chad too, to JT, SS, RA, DM, JF, GS, LF, MK, SB, RB, great to catch up calls, to everyone else who made my day, and to TL for your kind invitation, thanks.

And, to that Starbucks barista in Red Deer, just how many shots of espresso did you put in my Caffè Americano?

Buzz will wear off, but yesterday will linger.

I’m off to the gym now and then to the kennel to collect Gusta.

I wonder if she has as good a day I did …

Reader feedback:

EXPECTATIONS OF AGENDA

Very true Mark – have a good day! MK, Calgary, AB

If 'the good story' magically appears all is good. When an agenda is 'written' from a collective spirit, of win-win, matters are on the table and genuinely acted upon. If a selfish game or agenda is being 'played' in any dialogue or relationship...a good story will never be written, JF, Calgary, AB
