TRUTH OF BEAUTY, BEAUTY OF TRUTH

Truth isn’t pretty.
It’s not meant to be.
Yet, so many attempt to disguise truth, to avoid ugly, but truth isn’t ugly.
It’s not meant to be.
Revealing truths can be painful.
In my experience, less painful than hiding, deflecting or denying. Truth isn’t spin politics or virtualized and sanitized reality – it’s what is.
Whether or not we admit it, want to see it, or are allowed to see it, this is a pan-society problem. As long as corporations operate in secret (It’s proprietary!), and governments plan in secret (F.O.I.P. – eff-off, it’s private), and people hide truths from each other, we won’t recognize reality when it smacks us flat.
Truth, down pillow or sharp blade – cushioned or cut.
Hiding won’t change anything. It makes things worse.
As Georges Braque wrote: Truth exists; only lies are invented.

Nice one. I agree -- the challenge is, if we hide our light (and we all have a light) then we can't shine it for others to see in the dark. The more we shine, the brighter the light becomes in the world, LG, Calgary, AB
So.... I recently heard Elon Musk on CBC talking about his space exploration. His statement, "We don't want to be a one planet universe." confounded me. Why not? I wondered. And then, I thought about Christopher Columbus. When he set out for seas unknown, was he really just a non-digital world Elon Musk? Granted, he was funded by a Queen, not deep pockets, but he couldn't leave the world as it was, he had to go find new planets to inhabit. And here's the challenge... should we find life on other planets, will we be like the missionaries who followed Columbus' 'discoveries' (I struggle to call landing on this continent as a discovery as the Indigenous people's already knew it existed. If they had sailed to Europe would they have discovered it?) Anyway, back to the missionaries -- if life exists on other planets will we have learned our history lessons? Will we assume superiority, our righteous place and strive to claim/convert/make that planet like us or will we accept their indigenous rights and arrive in peace?, LG, Calgary, AB
