MOMENT OF CHOICE, MOMENT OF TRUTH
Tuesday Apr. 30, 2019
If things aren’t much different for you than they were a year ago, chances are pretty good they won’t be much different (or better) a year from now. I think we all tend to talk about change far better than we do in making change, we consider initiatives more readily than we initiate them …
No, I’m not criticizing you the reader – or anyone else, just observing this is my circumstance and I don’t think I’m much different than anyone else.
So what can I do?
Anything I want is the easiest answer, but also the most vague excuse for not being specific. Change comes from action, but first it comes from decisions. Time to make some has come.
Imagine you are driving down a road, you know the turn is coming. Two decisions are required – one is whether you turn, the other whether you slow down. Slowing down to take the turn is critical. Too often I think we have notions of taking turns but because we didn’t prepare for the turn we went by them and thought ‘another day’, much like Frost’s famous poem.
Turning, changing directions and making effective decisions has its time for deliberation and it’s time for actions …
