WHERE AM I?
Wednesday, April 7, 2021 - daily column #6721
Have you ever been on a trip, not sure exactly where you are – and you come upon a sign, one with a star or arrow, some symbol identifying: YOU ARE HERE, where you stand in amazement, still not having a clue where you are?
I’m feeling like that some days, on a journey and the sign over my door says ‘YOU ARE HERE.’
Where is here?
It’s not a city or state as much as a state of mind, a place in time and a stage of life’s journey.
Life began without trajectory or much guidance – and exploration of the ‘whole world’ has fallen ‘far short,’ but there is plenty of time for that.
Lots of things worth doing too, and there is plenty of time for that.
Nobody knows anyone’s life until they dive in or rip the cover off that book …
Life is not too short, nor too long, but the more I use up, the more I want to taste rather than waste.
I don’t how I got here.
But here I am.
Neither lost nor found – on a journey to somewhere from somewhere, alone in privacy and solitude but alone because everyone knows this place and when we know it, we say, “I am here.”
