Waking up ‘a little bit sore’ is a physical thing. We all understand what that means and how it feels.
Physical feelings are easy to identify and understand.
But waking up ‘a little bit sore’ (the angry kind) or sad or emotionally pained in some way isn’t so easy to see, to say or to understand – so we tend not to do that. Silence isn’t easy either but it saves discussion with inquiring minds.
But stored inside where we can’t see it doesn’t make it go away. Not speaking about it doesn’t mean nobody sees – because they do. This manifests in our behavior, how we treat people and how we react to things.
Next time you are feeling slightly sore and someone rubs you the wrong way, it might be them.
