EVERY MORNING
Tuesday Aug. 12, 2014

Every morning arrives.

Just slightly later than the day before.

Every morning I move just slightly slower than the day before.

Every morning life tastes a little sweeter than the day before.

Whether we are racing ’round the track of life, keeping track of life or struggling with life – there is less time than there was before. The world has all the time in the world – but we don’t.

We have less every day.

Sleeping less to enjoy more of the day has proven to be a faulty solution for me – but still I try to cheat the sleep clock, especially early in the week but by the time Thursday and Friday arrive each week I’ve succumbed to my physical limitations.

If I can’t create more time, then I have to create more value with less time.

Focus doesn’t know sleep or fatigue – it’s just focus, focused, focusing on what matters most. Many things don’t get done, but the most important ones get our most important attention.

Every morning arrives.

P.S.: … and, this morning, sad – thinking about Robin Williams. Such talent, such a waste, such a loss. He should have called. I’d have encouraged him to stay a while longer..

column written/ published from Calgary

morning walk: 14C/58F, we walked very early in the dark – moonlight was strange and beautiful, orange ‘nearly full’ moon in empty sky. I woke Gusta. She woke rabbits. Now she sleeps … and so should I but a busy day beckons …. I’ll sleep at the end of the week!
