VALIDATION MOMENTS
Friday Aug. 14, 2015
Gratitude by different name.
Clarifying moments, validating ones – proving our case unto ourselves.
Nobody else gets in on that magic, those moments.
From any day, great or ordinary one, few things stand out long-term – no matter how deep they go or how shallow we feel sometimes, contain magic.
Day falls after day, mostly blurred, special moments sear, burnt into softest tissues – never erased by hard-drive crashes or distorted by difficult days.
Choices flowing from unpredictable moments, inspiration flowing from forks in some conversations. Two meetings, as planned – but nothing about yesterday unfolded as ‘predicted’.
Two things turned out as hoped, one was simply a hoped for …
A hundred other things happened. Easily described as ‘nothing special happened’ but ‘so many things happened’ …
Some triumphs for celebrating others. Congrats. Powerful pivotal moments in my life (yes, boldly stated but accurate …)
My yesterday happened.
Indeed, random. Some planned. Some spontaneous. A friend sprinting through farmers’ market to discuss a problem/opportunity. Glad to help. Voice-mail message, last evening, from my daughter Krista confirming we’ll get together next week in Edmonton – for some fringing. Disappointed I missed her call – I was sacked out, but thrilled by those recorded words.
Some stand outs, defying explanation, having nothing to do with anything I planned yesterday.
Still, those results are the children and grandchildren of other actions on other days. On those days when things didn’t work, when answers didn’t cause happy … something worked out, something sprang from all that.
Best kept private moments, when handling any treasure, carefully, guarding, protecting, making sure no harm comes to it.
So … hi, how was your day?

Really beautiful; thank you Mark, EY, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Thanks, Mark, for making time in your busy day, to meet for coffee. It was all too brief, but hope there will be a next time in the future. If you golfed this afternoon, am positive it would have been too hot!!, BR, Calgary, AB
