OUT STANDING THERE
Monday Aug. 4, 2014
Nothing lays ahead but uncertainty in this field.
Uncertainty – not to be feared.
To be embraced.
Mustard and mayo in my sandwich.
Fruit for my oatmeal.
Uncertainty brings flavour and nuance, tasting and devouring, sweating and sweating some more. Work isn’t work. Work is play – in my field.
Opening up, to write, like facing padlocked gate.
Unlocking doesn’t let anything out.
Lets me in, lets me walk in this field.
Summer heat warms my back. Lets me walk in chilled morning after-rain. Blanketed by clouds. Lets me walk by street light when moonlight hides behind storm clouds.
Aloneness is absent here. I cannot be lonely walking in my field – because it is my field. Corner fence posts – values, anchor me to earth. Feelings lift me, soaring hawk searching for breakfast.
Everything I need lives in my field.
My field isn’t land, yet I’ve landed in it.
Lived in it. Safe, here. Safe, now. Comfort, here.
Like farmers quest – more land – aching to expand my field. Plant fresh crops. Harvests. Feasts. Rests. Planting again. Spreading seeds in more places. Filling days. Filling bins with growth bushels to feed these monsters inside. Monsters’ appetites grows with every shrinkage, with every adjustment.
I say ‘do less’.
They shouts back, ‘no, do more’.
Do more. Do over. Do better. Chants. Getting better at anything – superior to mediocre at everything. Apply. Apply myself. Go. Do. There is never more to do than now. There is never better to do than now. There is never more opportunity than now.
Go. Now. Simplify. Improve. Constantly. Never stop. Never quit. Never give in, give out or doubt.
More.
Better.
Fine.

morning walk: 10C / 50F, chill left by last night’s rain, steady breeze has blown it all away leaving clear blue empty sky; Gusta found two rabbits to her liking but her fastest sprint barely ruffled their feathers . . .

Thank you. Didn't expect to see my newest book announcement in your "Musings" this morning. Thank you so much for the support. Now on to the task of marketing the book. Not much good at that on my behalf. Marketing other peoples products or services seems so much easier to me than marketing my own, but it is a necessary task, GW, Bon Weir, TX
How’s your day? You wrote an epic novel today;) nice!, DW, Nanton, AB
