A WINDOW SEAT, PLEASE

Friday, August 5, 2022

I spent a full work day yesterday – doing a lot of reading, writing, webinar watching, paring to-do lists, rescheduling diarized work – re-tooling my business plan focus to better help some targeted prospective clients deliver better results and achieve daring goals.

Aside from ‘all that’, a smattering of calls, working on several ‘next files in the queue’ – I spent a solid portion of time looking out the window at a mixed-media sky, imagining coming days in a micro sense, imagining years/decades in a macro-sense.

You might say, I’ve come to my senses …

Clear, focused, intentional – no ‘ready, fire, aim’ approach, but not hesitating either.

I’ve got so much time to make up for, so much work to do, and August affords ample time for that because so many people are away or in holiday mode, geared for action when September rolls around.

Summer’s pace is slow for three reasons – people are away on vacation, leaving on vacation or coming back from vacation. It’s nice to get speedy same-day replies from people, but it’s also a nice buffer when the message comes back advising someone is away and will call me when they get back – and that additional buffer, the reality that coming back they’ll have a small mountain of email to plow through.

Meanwhile, I wish readers a great weekend of outdoor fun, great food, and great company.

I’m looking forward to some playtime and family time, prepared to start next week with a clean plate and a full agenda, and, just in case I need it, I’ll be sitting by a window because you can see anything through a window …
