WORDS ARE ALWAYS FUNNY – SOMETIMES PEOPLE ARE TOO
Thursday Aug. 6, 2015
Are you e-fluent?
Lovely note arrived – using effluence.
Hmm … effluent means sewage …
Writer likely meant influence.
Could also have meant affluence, but context pointed to influence.
Effluence and influence actually aren’t foreign concepts.
Mind wandered to e-fluency, e-influences, e-mail – all things e and i – i-phone, i-pad, i-pod – got me thinking prefix.
Another lovely word, we know its meaning.
But, I’m on this tangent: think – ‘fix in advance’, pre-fix, pre-repair(prepare).
Go ahead, effluence someone today.
Or, just give them a chuckle because too often too many people have nothing to chuckle about. On those days, even a little one you share might go a long way toward brightening someone’s very gloomy day …
We can’t always fix things.
But we can always be effluent, or pre-fixing something.
Imagine a driver, caught under the effluence …

What a beautiful post today. And, interestingly, I had started writing on this very subject last week and haven't yet finished my post. Now, you've inspired me to keep going, LG, Calgary, AB
