FEELING, MISSING, CONFRONTING …
Saturday, December 11. 2021

I want what I want when I want it – as we’ve all had from birth when we wanted to be warm, dry, fed and secure. Our fear of falling, or failing, is just that primal – and as important now as it was when we were helpless newborns. Simple ain’t so simple anymore.

The truth, it’s been said many times many ways, will set you free. The truth will also scare the crap out of you. So which is better, to face reality and admit to truth – or to wrap ourselves in the social media/old media hype of promotion, misdirection and obfuscation?

To complicate that, also realizing there are more sides to most situations than you might think or wish for.

Every coin has two sides, and the most complicated issues have so many perspectives and sides that Sybil’s shrink would get confused.

My wrestle is not with complicated things, but more with simple things. In recent days I’ve been adjusting to some temporary changes in daily logistics in my life – both happily and unhappily. In small ways, most things in life put us through a stress test of sorts as preparation.

How we handle any situation is not likely to be disrupted by a hurricane by an obnoxious, difficult person. How we handle the absence of something, or someone, important is not of earthquake proportions, but it’s unsettling in a powerful way. Feeling love, loss of love, or recapturing love are not things of wildfire or hell-like proportions, but we feel more than a little heat – not the kind the consumes burning bushes, but more like the spontaneous combustion of kindred spirits.
