WORSE THAN DEATH

Everyone has heard that cliché, the thing people hate worse than death is public speaking.
I’m an accomplished, self-assured public speaker, but I also recall when I wasn’t so secure and would dodge opportunities to speak to a crowd from a stage.
Funny, isn’t it, looking back, how many things we are afraid of in life until we try them, and when we do, we usually learned they were not so difficult after all?
At the root of it all, for many of us, the simplest things seem hardest:
Admitting mistakes.
Dialing a phone.
Saying yes, or no, or hello, or I love you.
Telling truth.
Writing a letter.
These simplest scary steps might not be all we need to get through every day, but they are all we need to get through every life …
