Each year, four seasons – most people notice that change for a minute at best – otherwise it is seen as and ‘felt’ as the slow march of time from day-to-day-to-day-to-day-to today. You get the picture …
Better than Christmas, more meaningful than New Year’s or Groundhog Day or any other faux-holiday, the first day of a season is magical – like the first day of hockey season. Or baseball season. Fans get pumped. Players get pumped. Attention is focused and the season begins.
So, why not for winter?
Exactly, why not?
Whether you are running away from autumn or running to the mall, whether you are sprinting (or pacing yourself) till spring, you are watching the sand slip through the water glass. Better run. Fast as you can – run headlong into it, get winter between your teeth like a horse on the bit of its bridle.
Pull up a seat, make some popcorn – put a long on the fire and play warm music … it’s hear.
