SLIPPED INTO SLEPT BLISS

Wednesday Dec. 2, 2015

So many things, less is more.

When it comes to sleep, more is more.

Sleep enures to everyone’s benefit – likely for everyone I brush against daily. Adds no calories (actually burns them), restores muscles, invigorates, inspires vigorously and recharges enthusiasm batteries – all the while, non-conscious brain percolate, spun, recalculated like that first Univac, rebooting, upgrading body’s operating system, sorting through every file, every bit and byte – every night, passing by and storing (but ignoring) everything that doesn’t make sense. Then, coalescing around what does …

I wake, unaware of the decisions I’ve made overnight – until I glance my list, my pile, my schedule – then my choices quickly arrive in a thrice, my overnight brainwork having done the work and arrived at a conclusion. We do our best thinking when we weren’t thinking, slept on it …

Reader feedback:

FIRST PERSON SINGULAR

Thanks but …. Hi Mark. If you ever come back to this part of Hemingway's world, I will be glad to meet. I have 7 brothers and sisters, and many friends who email me, and work HARD for 9 hours a day/ 5days a week, and have a year old puppy that needs a lot of my time and energy. Your Musings are not going to ever get read, so please stop sending so I don't feel guilty for not reading, LH, Ketchum, ID
