GIFT BEARING STRANGERS
Tuesday Dec. 29, 2015
What someone does thoughtlessly gets noticed.
What they don’t, as effortlessly, is far more valuable. Some gifts keep on giving, even if they weren’t supposed to be gifts to start with.
Truly remarkable, the gift nobody intended to give. Thank you!
Wasn’t bought, didn’t have a bow …
Some look odd. Some, shameless re-gifting. Some, like opportunity, like wisdom – ring our bell. Gifts are gifts. We all get that. Most, chosen carefully – and even ones chosen quickly are usually thoughtful in terms of needs, values, purpose or liking them …
That gift when delivered, was least expected. That message inside someone’s action, that revelation of character and belief, of what people are made of (or not), what people really think – now that’s a gift. Not always intentionally revealed, but worth appreciating, worth saying thank you for.

morning walk: -17C/2F, full moon watched over us, crisp-clear-cold refreshing, as sunrise was giving birth to another day. Gusta seemed to have more romping energy than usual, and so did I. It just seemed like a good day for a light jog through yesterday’s fresh snow …

TOO MUCH
Somewhere on the continuum between “winning is the only thing” and “there are no losers - here is a ribbon for showing up” is that sweet spot where we sign up because we want to challenge ourselves (and others), where we do our absolute best (or more), where we are pleased (but not satisfied) with our efforts, and where we are satisfied (but not pleased) with our reward (which we acknowledge is fair but we want to do better next time). That is the sweet spot that makes my heart race and keeps me coming back, KK, Calgary AB
