EVERYBODY
Tuesday Dec. 8, 2015
Excuses, lies, self-deception – tolerance of ourselves by ourselves – no greater equalizer of our realities.
Everybody’s incredibly distinct, unique and special – that’s true. For everyone else looking at us, unique as snowflakes are – no two identical, but looking the same, treated the same, impossible to distinguish one from another.
When we ride high on energy and accomplishments, we need little inspiration to do more, be more, boast more. When we ride low on enthusiasm, confidence and recognition, we’ll grab, cling to any shred, anything.
We are all the same.
And different, magnificently so, and we cannot forget that because we cannot fade into life’s snowbank …
If had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things. – Leonardo di Vinci

Hi Mark, Timely email. My sister has been fighting alcoholism and as her older brother it’s extremely difficult to watch. I ‘hear’ that she is doing better and I know it’s a process, not an event. So, I get that. But it’s tough when you hear one thing and see another. In any event, thank you for the email and I will passing this along to her. She may get pissed at me. I don’t know. All I can I do is be there for her. Thank you, SM
Thank you for being the voice to how I think about a lot of things. I too have been through this. I agree completely with your comments. As far as what turned it around for me, I do not know. I describe it as the light going on allowing me to realize I could not follow my current path with success in any or all of my life. Have wished many times this would happen or I could make it happen for all addicts, LH Lethbridge, AB
Here’s to your continued sobriety, Mark. Well done. Many don’t make it!, BR, Calgary, AB
