HIGHER HOPES
Sunday Feb. 11, 2018
Anticipation is an interesting emotion to explore.
Anticipation seems either uber-positive or horribly-negative, high hopes or dire fears.
We travelers along this risk-reward continuum, getting ahead of ourselves with expectations what might happen at some future time not yet arrived.
FEAR, easily explained as ‘False Evidence Appearing Real’.
So what is the antidote?
Speaking our mind, speaking our emotions, speaking our dreams [not a good idea during work performance appraisals] anytime, every chance we get, any time we get …
Each time we try we won’t succeed – in fact we might fail many times, often, but if we fall forward we’ll land in front of where we began, closer to the goal. We never get an answer if we don’t ask, we never make progress if we aren’t pushing ourselves. We will only regret what we never tried.
Here’s a toast – to higher hopes …
