AS IF I WAS
Friday Feb. 27, 2015
My Wednesday was sensational – hard to top. So my Thursday expectations were muted, hopeful for plenty of plenty, not disappointed.
Good things happened, just not as many.
Good conversations happened, just not as many. Some difficult moments/conflicts showed up, but not many. New people showed up. New opportunities showed up. Visits showed up. Not many. More than enough.
Another big day?
Most of us, most times, want to say nice words, kind words, politically correct words – all nice – but I want what I want when I want it and I want the world to provide it just the way I want it …
Today could be another go-through-turnstiles day.
Isn’t the first day, or last.
Just ending this week, beginning this weekend?
Both.
Without much special going on to invigorate our mind or stimulate our body, what wakes us, what shakes us?
Can we sit up, recognize magic moments, memorable people and outsized experiences for what they are?
And what are they?
Magical fascinations – or, reality?
Sleight of hand mix …
We can all have these days anytime.
Isn’t day of week or month that determines what kind it will be – that is all personal choice, all individual attitude – of want, or of gratitude.
Big days are fabulous.
So are small days with incredibly memorable moments in them.
Always, at least one …
As I was sending off a note this morning, to a friend whose father recently died, I was thinking about those days when whole days felt empty of any special feeling moments.
Recalling how many times I was running on empty.
I wasn’t.
But felt as if I was.

OWN OUR LOOKING GLASS
Hi Mark – Thanks for reaching out the other day. I have been swamped with interviews as I am all day today. I love the positivity you have been writing about. As I read your muses it puts me in a good head space. I know I have said it before, and many others have as well, but thank you for the time you take to write daily. I enjoy your thoughts! Have a great day!, MK, Calgary, AB
