AND HE TOLD TWO FRIENDS
Saturday, February 19, 2022

And he told two friends …

We all think of a women’s shampoo commercial when we hear those words, but in this case, it’s about a friend of mine – Ray (RT, White Rock, BC) who forwarded a copy of my STOP THE INSANITY column the other day. It seems that Ray sent it to Al, who in turn sent it to Casey, and the dialogue was too worthy not to share.

And, I expect Al and Casey are joining our circulation list:

Ray wrote as he forwarded the column: I thought you might like this.

Al replied: Shamelessly borrowing from a hero of mine - Carl Sagan, I'd suggest that Mark M. touched on just one symptom of the human condition. Agreed, we do have 'too much stuff'...  Yet we remain largely (& willfully) blind to our tiny place in the Cosmos and to our ultimately pointless reasons for hating, hurting, & killing each other while perched on this little 'Cosmic pixel'...  Sagan's elegant, eloquent, & simple 'picture challenge' encompasses this broader perspective. Some 35+ years old it's arguably just as relevant now. More critically, it provides context for a better future - before it's too late...

Casey replied: I think I like this Mark's musings guy. I agree 100% with this reflection of his. You should subscribe to his blurbs, Al. Do you know him personally, Ray? Interesting. Thanks for passing this along, Al.

Ray replied: Yes, Casey. I know him personally. Known him for 30+years. His has written every day for something like 8600 days, without fail. You can subscribe. He would welcome you. He is very thought provoking. I read him every morning.

Thanks, Ray, for telling two friends.

To Musing readers – how about this idea?

Let’s all tell two friends …

And if you tell two friends, and they tell two friends, and …

Well, you get the picture!

Happy weekend everyone.

CLEAN SWEEPER
Hi Mark,  I am not trying to bring you down from your newly energized state,  this is more of a light hearted contrarian comment on a Friday before a long weekend.  In the immortal words of George Carlin,   “Just because the (time) Monkey is off your back, doesn’t mean the circus has left town”.   Hope you have a great long weekend and that your energy flow continues. Kindest regards, DD, Calgary, AB
