SELF-REPAIRING
Tuesday, February 23, 2021 - daily column #6677
First, life starts.
The best is always yet to come.
Our future is always better than the past.
Looking forward, though, aren’t we carnival fortune-tellers with fake crystal balls?
Getting up again, at any age, is reminiscent of watching children learning to walk, getting better each respective time. Flopping never feels good at any age.
Those kids keep falling, keep getting up until toddling becomes a walk, then a full-on sprint.
That’s not an instinct we lose …
We are human self-repairing zippers. Ceaseless self-repair opportunities linger around every curve on our road – like zippers, pulled down to our beginnings, re-connected, zipped again – we carry on as if nothing went wrong, kept going, until the next malfunction, till our next re-start.
After 1918’s Spanish Flu Pandemic, the twenties roared, stock markets crashed, the depression sunk dreams, and WW II put a genocidal crater in humanity.
What about those roaring twenties?
Will they repeat?
Was it natural progression – every economy snapping back, people feeling brave, available for risk-taking because they’d escaped death?
Soon, we’ll see our zeal return, prosperity and lifestyles we ache for will overwhelm our common sense and defeat our memories – and we’ll be singing happy days are here again.
We can own our lot – our life, job, friends, interests, families, passions: our actions govern them.
Or do they own us?
Self-guiding pathways inure as self-hardened trails. Life is that self-guiding trail, and it gets harder. And better. And difficulties make us weary, but we keep getting up each time we fall. There is no other way unless we choose to surrender.
Self-repairing is self-choice; any other choice is self-destroying surrender.

Hi , I'm sure that speaking of one's work is difficult, you can find an advocate for your cause to do the leg work...or treat the advocacy like someone else's. Good luck, I hope you publish and I will be happy to read your success :), AG, Cancun, Mex.
