WAKE UP THOUGHTFULLY

Wednesday Feb. 24, 2016

No day’s events can be forecast. Every day we bring this same body and brain – but what attitude do we bring, one of gratitude or entitlement?

Our reaction/attitude is rooted in our first waking moments – when how we act and react, feel and believe, sets our tone. I’m not always happy about that. I’ve come to believe it. Which is not to say I cannot get through my day effectively with a cranky attitude. But I believe we are far more effective when we don’t.

Something about yesterday. Something about morning thoughts …

My day, wide landscape of possibility. How things unfold today is not predetermined. They’re governed, more than you think, by whatever mindset you woke up with. Between waking and putting feet on floor, our day’s direction, tone and quality of outcome is determined.

morning walk:  -10C/13F, clear, light breeze – commuters killed the quiet (or maybe, if I’d walked earlier …) Gusta sniffed out and ate something disgusting on our way out so she was short-leashed in the way back.
