MOST OR LEAST, MORE OR LESS …
Thursday, February 25, 2021 - daily column #6679
If I’m standing in my shoes, those are my shoes – so that is who I am and where I reside.
But if I was to teleport my flesh and bones one-foot either way, I’d be standing in a nearly identical but distinctively unique spot, feeling like another person standing near me. I wonder if that’s how the term ‘I’m beside myself’ originated?
Most days, I know exactly who I am, where I am and what I stand for. I am committed to where I stand and to what I stand against.
When we are young and unwise, we can waffle, but once we call ourselves middle-aged – by then, we should be sure, and clear, and steadfast.
Yet, some days, I have no clue who I am. I expect I’m not alone in this vacillation swing, from one extreme to the other, but I don’t see it as pendulum swinging. It’s more like a one-inch shift, over and back, across a dotted line called the middle of it all.
We always stand in our own shoes unless we empathize with someone else, imagining ourselves in someone else’s shoes, which easy to think about but not so simply or easily done.
Abundance is found, not in what we have or what we gather, as it is a measurement of what we enjoy and find value in doing. The more we do, the more we have. More or less …

I have no doubt Mark in my mind this Book will hit the Best Seller's List. Crime Writers have the highest rating and approval in the publishing end. My cousin when she was alive had the amazing pleasure of reading such books before they hit the shelves through Random House and she often because Crime and True Crime are my Top reads gave me books to read to critique as well. I loved it. If you capture your audience in the 1st chapter then your book will be a Best Seller. With over 4000 books in my collection with 90% of them True Story, True Crime I am always watching for those books to hit the shelf. I have many Crime Writers I Collect and Follow. I definitely look forward to adding you among them. Can't Wait! - MJ, Calgary
I agree. The world will change for the better when we start to include the less fortunate in every (or almost every) new idea. As an aside, I just read something about where we are in total in considering electric vehicles for all. Our infrastructure is nowhere near where it would have to be. Too bad Alberta missed the boat 15 years ago to be included in supplying petroleum products to the rest of the world until we actually move away from same as the #1 source of our energy.
