LEGITIMATE VIEWS WARRANT LAWFUL ACTIONS

We are all the same, are we not, in that we all chase opportunities?

If we are buying, we are looking for a product.
If we are artists, we are looking for inspiration.
If we are selling, we are looking for customers.
If we are cogs on a wheel, we are looking to mesh with our fellow cogs to make wheels turn …

What do these have in common?

You might wonder why.

Most of us are doing one or several of these activities daily – overcoming obstacles, encountering difficulties and watching our fellow citizens waste their time on non-productive work.

What kind?

Like protesting for the sake of being obstructive. Like being opposed to vaccines and masks and blocking traffic to prove some point. Or like calling them names and deriding them for exercising their rights and liberties as our prime minister is currently doing.

Whether struggling for life in ICUs, working to make the world better or generating a sustainable income, we all have a choice; we can all lead.

We can all follow.

We can all get out of the way.

I feel empathy for the ICU patient and the truckers and much less sympathy for politicians at all levels who are making hay and headlines when they ought to be leading.

The mantle of leadership is theirs – they fought hard to win the support of citizens to get there, but we had the faith they would do a credible job of leading us.

While they have not led us very well, that is no cause for civil unrest or taking over – it’s a rationale for voting for someone else.
