As plants seek sunshine, we hunger for nourishing, living out our lives as seekers.

Everyone does. Some seek fortune or fame. Knowledge. Insight. Understanding. Sometimes we find what we're looking for.

Often we find unexpected …

Sometimes we find what we didn't know we were looking for until we found it – then craved it, couldn’t live without it. For me, that’s writing. Which simply makes me seek more, deeper, fuller explanations for self, and for what I seek. If I wrote this life as a play, who could I could cast but me?

I don’t think I’m seeking someone or some experience – but I am pulled, pushed, dragged and pummeled through each day by my toughest task master: my desire to matter. To matter to anyone, to someone. To do things that matter to the world. Otherwise, why bother? Indeed, why bother to do something if it doesn’t matter. Worse, not bothering to do something which might …

Standing on shore of today.

Seeking.

Some days thirsting.

Some, bursting …

morning walk:  7C/44F, clear and mild – middle of the night silence, we walked away from the traffic noise to the silence of the neighbourhood, so tranquil. As we came back the familiar sounds of a train trundling along were almost musical – until screeching brakes brought it to a halt (probably means some kind of trouble down the line), but the sudden silence was an unexpected end to a warm walk at 3AM …
