ADEQUATE or AWESOME?
Monday Jan. 12, 2015
Getting up early, really early, means more on Monday.
This day opens with this simple choice: to have an adequate day, or to have something else.
A wide range of choices are available.
Everything is …
Anything I want it to be.
Among them, awesome.
You can choose awesome.
Everyone has these choices every day.
But Monday has special qualities – it sets the stage, like a pace-car, for the whole week.
No doubt it will have race qualities – some sprint, some marathon, some tortoise, some hare …
What do you want?
Do you want an adequate week, or an awesome one?
For this, you must to look to your leader. Go into the washroom, look in the mirror and let that expression determine your fate, set the tone for your week. Why not? Everyone around you will be looking at that same image, and from that tone, they’ll take your lead, won’t they?
Are you in action or the picture of inaction?
Actions, we’ve all heard many times, speak loudly.
Not because they are loud, but because they are actions.
Everything else, however engrossed we might be in thought, delays, procrastinations, avoidances, debate and plans – is inaction.
Choose.
Hit send.
Do.
Do more.
Do more of that thing and this thing. Start things, move things forward, light fires, put out fires, kick everything that needs kicking except kicking the can down some road.
When noon comes, measure what you’ve done.
When the day is done, what you’ve done will show what you’ve been up to.
Or, what you haven’t.
Monday starts early. It starts the week.
It starts me …
Starting now.
