MEANINGFUL
Tuesday Jan. 6, 2015
Change.
Not that kind in our pocket – but rather the kind in our life.
Change of direction, change of thinking, change of career, change of lifestyle, change of home, change of partners, change of hobbies, change of school, change of everything.
Change of anything.
What does change create, produce, yield, cast off, generate?
Waste.
Baggage.
Scorched earth.
OK, now let’s consider positive aspects of change, of chance, of possibility.
Change, not the kind in your pockets – no matter how empty you might feel, no matter how bankrupt (financially, emotionally, or morally) you might sometimes feel.
Change is a noun. It is a verb. An adjective. An adverb.
Change has direction.
Change has velocity.
Change has heft.
Change has meaning.
Change …
Don’t leave home without it.

morning walk: -15C/5F, overcast with snow in the forecast, we walked early under the quiet hum of streetlights and the distant hum of tires on Macleod Trail – Gusta had a very productive start to her day, and I could have walked all morning … but duty calls.
