Every year or two I try – often over the holidays – to spend time purging.
Might be a marketing initiative, might be a ‘discussion whose time has come’ with someone – might be breathing life to some new initiative, might be ‘vaporizing something that languished’. This debate of readiness is part ‘taking it slow’ strategy, part rationalization of procrastination, part indecision – part ‘not sure I’m ready’ thinking.
I expect we all do this. Too often I think my reluctance to de-start something is the toughest, because something started with the best intentions doesn’t always get the full attention it deserves because it competes with everything else on my plate, everything else on my agenda, everything else already on my procrastination list.
Readiness, a subject I battle in my head – is this ready, is that ready – am I ready?
