Anyone who can think about anything has something to contribute to ‘the discussion’. We live in such a noise world – bombarded in every medium by truths, half-truths and fake-truths – there is one thing we can always count on. Our own thoughts. Our feelings. There is nothing half or fake about them. The challenge when we go out in the world to speak is that we are true to our own truth. I also think we should be true to facts and reality – but that isn’t everyone’s way, or purpose. Unless you write fiction, in which case the truth and reality are jumping-off points.
Whether you pull it out of yourself, belch-it onto the page or completely make-it-up, you can.
Anyone who can feel can write meaningfully – short or long.
