YOU CAN FAKE ANYTHING
Tuesday Jan. 19, 2016
What is truth?
Opposite of fake?
In our society – not just con artists and politicians, television advertising and movies – suspending our disbelief, so much is fake. Hard to see truth through trees.
When a hockey player fakes left, then goes right, we cheer that artful deception, recognize that skill part, of our most physical game.
But when politicians campaign for right, then do something different – not wrong, not evil, but different – don’t we feel tricked?
Are people real, or fake?
And do they know the difference?
Can we tell?
Starts with one.
Yes, you.
And me.
Truth in our words, actions and thoughts. Seems so simple …

morning walk: -7C/20F, calm, cloudy and quiet. Gusta sluggish today – wanted to sniff snowbanks while I wanted to hustle; I won.

SUM OF OUR CITIZENS
Canada should, but, does not need to recreate the relationship with its aboriginals, by eliminating reserves. Cancel all treaty rights. Make each individual member of its society responsible to the whole without exception or exclusion. All will be equal in the eyes of a super being. Good luck!, RE, Calgary, AB

OH MY
Just returned from Mexico – and caught up on last week’s musings. Hard to believe I have been a faithful reader for 5,000+ days; there must be something inspiring (or comforting) in your writing! I just realized something – most of your musings are timeless. Rarely do you react to (or rant about) the happenings of the day. If I miss you for a week while I travel and unplug from the www I find that I always catch up upon my return. I don’t do that with the newspaper (okay – maybe I glance at the front pages to make sure the world did not end, but I do not read through old news). That is part of the beauty of your writing – it is not “news” but rather observation, wisdom, contemplation, wonder – in short – musing. I am a muse(d), KK, Calgary, AB
