REPEAT DAILY UNTIL DONE

What existential problem of the world should I spend time today trying to solve?
What existential problem of my friends should I spend time today trying to solve?
What existential problem of my colleagues should I spend time today trying to solve?
What existential problem of the stranger on the street corner should I spend time today trying to solve?
How we spend our days, whether working, relaxing, restarting, retiring – or re-anything, can be carefree as it was when we were children, or as we watched our children growing up – and that carefree feeling (and maybe some of the childishness too) deserves attention.
How we spend our days thinking and reflecting – reviewing our choices, our failures to choose, and how we let life’s realities stunt, delay or obscure our dreams, our sense of purpose in life, and our childish playfulness is a reality for many, if not most of us. Digging deep into our heads – that way is neither good nor bad, but a choice – and perhaps every day we need some measure of that, to allocate some time for those things, but oh my, look at the time …
And there is enough time.
Check your clocks. We all have the same ‘right amount’ of time every day. Using time is a choice, and we can run our lives/time on purpose or are we floating along on accident?
As I (we) get better organized and focused, as I (we) manage our schedule, timelines and diary of things to do, do I (we) have open eyes and ears to take in the magic of the day or the opportunities floating by all the time?
Every speaker and writer on this subject will give you a formula, list or process. It will involve 3 or 5 or 7 or 10, or 39 steps to follow!
One step, followed by another, is how most of us get through life – and our days, one step at a time.
Each time you see a bumper sticker with ‘One day at a time,’ you are reading the mantra of alcoholics everywhere, one we all can pay homage to, as I do. No method or formula solves problems, but they help us to deal with what we face and to face what confronts us, one issue at a time, one more day at a time until tomorrow brings us a repeat appearance/performance of that same dynamics, only different sets of facts.
Repeat daily.
It gets better every day.
The alternative to living our life is being alive and not living it at all.
