EXPECTATIONS, ANTICIPATIONS AND DISAPPOINTMENTS

Life is worthwhile for any of us, for all of us – and when we share it with someone, that’s not just the icing in the cake: that’s the icing, the cake, the party, the party room, the whole hotel and it is not the last resort but the rather the best place to be – and you don’t need to leave home to find it.
If your day or week or life or situation isn’t starting off where you want it to be, I would suggest there is a mindset shift in order.
Should we have expectations? Lofty ones? Or should we avoid all the risk that expectations drag us into?
Still, fear of a broken heart or a crushed spirit is no way to live.
I’m not talking wild-azzed nonsense dreams or latest BHAGs, but rather those essentials of life so many of us don’t have. It is my perception, many have given up on.
I’m not talking about food, clothing, shelter and water – yet essentials just the same.
Caring, touch, company and kindness.
Look around, do you have that?
Who does?
Yes, many. But not all – many search and search and search.
Many sit still, bemoaning what they don’t have. Some randomly wander the planet or the extremes of behaviour in failed search of it. They conclude it is not to be found. Or that it is not to be found again or in sufficient abundance. So many give up early, others give up eventually. Some of us never ever ever ever give up. It isn’t about waiting for a ship to come in or swimming out to meet one …
