EARLIER ALWAYS SEEMS BETTER

Friday, Jan. 31, 2020

A busy mind likes to be working.

A quiet mind needs to be quiet.

Two states competing for attention, each are good for us, each makes us better – yet they clash too.

Heavily and too often.

Harmony between them, essential, if we are going to have balance and harmony in our lives. I have it some days – and some days find me way out on skinny branches flailing, wishing I could get a good grip on anything.

And, most idle minds tend to wander. A focused one, if too focused, will miss too many opportunities flying by.

Especially on days when I don’t start very early, the big challenge I face on that morning walk is getting going early enough, clear-headed enough, that my day-plan doesn’t invade my head so much that I can’t appreciate the fresh air and fresh viewpoint in front of me.

The most important time of each day is good sleep.

Second most important is a good start.

One day someone may convince me of something better, but for now, I remain persuaded a morning walk with a quiet mind is the best blank page to start any day…

PATH TO SOMEWHERE
Great Musing today Mark.  It reached me at a time when I am at a junction in life.  Thanks, ML, Calgary, AB
