COLLABORATORS WANTED
… apply now, just knock
Thursday July 10, 2014
Nobody knocking at my door (unless you count unstoppable robocalls from somebody’s computer, with a nice recorded voice, trying to sell me Google ads, give me free travel-miles from Westjet, offering SEO and every other thing I do and don’t need .. oh, the joys of operating a small business and having your phone # on the internet).
Seriously, nobody knocks saying ‘hey, I’m a cleaning lady’, or ‘I’m a renovation carpenter’.
Same is true of great people with great ideas. Where are they?
I have things I want to do, or do better, if only I had a great connection with fabulous collaborators – ones I could trust with my life of course.
How important is that, really?
World of idea people out there – so how do I find ones just right for me to collaborate with?
Comfort with our own way (my old ways), habits and ruts are not bad – they have a common thread.
Comfort.
Its good, comfort is relaxed, comfort is undisturbed and relaxed. No worries. No stress. No angst, no dreams of marvelous things, no great big idea, no great big dream, no great big problem to solve.
Sure. Comfort. That’s the thing.
Not comfortable for long though, is it.
We are meant for better, for more, for more difficult, for more challenging – but we need to test ourselves regularly.
Looking for a collaborator, or two, or eight – not sure yet what the mix will be, but it is time to crowd-source an adventure. I’ll do that soon. I’ll post it here too – looking for creative people with skills I don’t have to help make something extraordinary happen.
