LIFE IS LIFE AND POLITICS IS A BOARD GAME

I feel safer, more free, more likely to direct my own life – but so do citizens of most countries.
Do we simply suffer common delusions …
Greek’s will wake up to their new/continuing reality, what their government accepted, buckling to coercive European lender/leader cabal pressure. Will reactions play out differently than for any ordinary person besieged by creditors calling or banging on their door? Greek-summer might be, could be, upturning earth’s oldest democracy as they confront collective do-over vs. locked in debt-lock for at least another generation …
Americans celebrate. Israelis grind their teeth. Will there be meaningful change in Iran’s ambitions? Will they really work on nuclear power without weapons in mind? I wonder what those citizens must think, in Iran, in Israel? What real peace might look like if they had it, whether they will know it in their lifetime? And now long it will take them to realize oil-economics and Obama’s need for a win on anything trumped everything …
Our simple lives can change – we all need to live it for today because the next generation is for the next generation and we cannot wait, or last, or worry about that. Still, it would be nice to have a chessboard called ‘the world’ and be able to move some pieces around.
Better yet, to move some peace(s) around.
Democracy – dying, dead, or simply an illusion we continue to hold?
Never thought myself radical. Some days I wonder, why not?
