PILES AND LISTS
… o’things
Wednesday July 16, 2014
What kind of day will this be?
Woo-hoo!
I love heat.
Needs of one client will make morning busy. My general plan, now altered, was for a lazy day – enjoy heat, hit some golf balls, go car shopping, run some errands.
My piles o’things – also wants its way. Piles That prefer this be a frenetic day, but I’ve already got enough to do enjoying lovely heat, meeting client’s needs, meeting my own.
Piles o’things are sometimes horrific obstacles to happiness, because those piles often contain lists o’things. An innocent pile can contain some ugly monsters.
Piles o’things however needs to get smaller.
I’ve resolved to downsize workload through working smarter (some things just should NOT be done), by working harder (some things MUST be done, but as quickly as possible in the morning when it is cool), and working smaller (some things just NEED to be thrown away).
I’m torn today between weight reduction and pile reduction. Exercise value of trashing things isn’t quite like playing 18 holes. Fitness, harder to extract from life/work treadmill than from one at the gym.
I’ll try to work them all, piles o’things, that treadmill and that trip to the fairway.
I feel no need to get it all done – summer heat has a way of diffusing need to hustle. I see that in others all the time, but I’ve just never been that way.
I want to relax, relax, relax – but the need/desire to wind up this week with few things over-holding – essential to enjoying next week away, to enjoying lazy-hazy summer days in August.
Seems the only fair way to the fairway for me.

morning walk: 15C / 59F, hazy (from forest fires), barely a breeze, another very hot day ahead – love it! Gusta hungry – and a little cranky not getting her typical ration. I’ve explained to her (surely she understands) that ½ in the morning and ½ in the evening, as the vet recommended, is better for weight reduction. Feeling guilty, I ate a smaller than normal breakfast myself …
