SLEEP, WAKE UP, SHAKE UP
Wednesday July 17, 2019
Am I suddenly aware of some new fact or circumstance?
No. Nothing new. Perhaps our (or my) realization is fresh. Intelligence of ‘getting more sleep’ is well documented.
Waking from restful nap or peaceful night refreshes. All I need to be reminded is to have a great rest, awake energized – freshened perspective.
So profound to wake up to a realization of something that has been staring us in the face needs fixing, and to wake with clarity.
Such as:
~ devoting time, energy and money to something with no future, no potential and little value – but we were habit-bound, couldn’t let it go or take time to self-critique
~ someone in our circle of work/personal life is unhealthy for us to associate with; cord needs to be severed
~ that we are in the wrong place, wrong company, wrong relationship, wrong city, wrong industry, wrong profession … to allow ourselves to achieve what we’ve been aching to do
~ that fixing something is ridiculous, we should just replace it … or do without it altogether
~ that not fixing something would be a horrible waste of something precious, so it deserves time, money and loving to help it
What are we not waking up to that needs a change in our life, our perspective, our approach to life and work and play?
Sleep long, sleep deep – wake up, smell coffee, take action. I doubt you’ll regret any, and if you do, you’ll be sleeping better and that means you’ll likely live longer and live better than ever.
When we don’t rest sufficiently or well ‘everything’ declines.
Got a problem?
Sleep on it.
Reader feedback:
This got me thinking… How do we grow our size? It could be a challenge accepted or a mountain to be moved or a friend that says, “Yes, you can!” or a foe that says, “You don’t have what it takes”. Every chance we have to step outside our comfort zone is an opportunity to grow several sizes bigger. Thanks for sharing this, Mark!, PW, Calgary, AB
