Curb appeal – not to describe curbs or parked cars – describes homes which look good from curb-distance. Questionable whether any particular house is worthwhile or well-kept. Judging a house by its curb or google-earth view by its great roofline is like judging a person by a friend’s recommendation …
Impressive at distance, but opening doors, probing inside exposes what is real, what represents value. Real estate buyers perform due diligence – poking around, researching, inspecting every dark corner.
Between people – they rarely inspect under the hood or explore basements. Curb appeal has launched many relationships. I know I have – not just when I was very young. Someone I’ve been introduced to recently drove this point home for me.
