DEDUCING DEMONS

Wednesday July 25, 2018

Got any demons?

Sitting quietly in their corner?

Tamed like circus lions?

Or poised, ready to punch hard like that boxer on his stool in the corner of the ring?

Are you lion tamer – chair in hand, crackling whip with your other?

Or are those demons dancing around – like stinging wasps or snapping serpents – fangs bared, ready to sink into us, to sink us, to bring us to ground at will?

Because ‘that’s what demons do’, or because that is what we let demons do?

Do we replace one demon with another – replace booze with sex, replace sex with food, replace food with some other vice or habit or compulsion?

I wonder if we are solving anything, or just moving pieces around on some board?

I’m unsure if that is statement of fact or self-answering question.
