READY SET BANG

Thursday June 16, 2016

Not everyone can lead their race – but we’ve no chance if we don’t start.

Not sure what metaphor fits, for people who appear to be going backward in their lives. The usually are not. They are falling back a step or two, assessing their situation, before choosing their path.

Sitting, falling back, or pushing ahead – all of us are in the same race (much like thousands commencing a marathon – just imagine your bib with your social security number on it), waiting for the gun to sound, start race, ready, set ...

Sand sliding through pinch-points, billions of egg timers. Life-time. Cumulative speed – time, earth’s rotation, earth’s speed orbiting sun – put in motion long before anyone existed.

Newton described objects in motion staying in motion.

Could his laws apply to people?

Plod.

Race.

Choose.

Bang!

Go …

morning walk with Gusta:  8C/47F, cool overnight, overcast – light breeze, a bit gloomy looking. Gusta seems to be feeling better today, a little more energy in her tail-wagging. Maybe ‘me too’ …
