Reorganizing my calendar/schedule and ordering my day – my preferred term is now triage, the process of dealing with urgent items urgently, the important ones in an orderly fashion, the least important left to the end when everything else is done. Or left over. Or pushed over to another day.
My most recent idea/solution for this was to move all those left-over and pushed-over non-urgent items I didn’t want to get lost or forgotten over to the 3 PM on the last Saturday of each month – parked if you will, so I can easily access where they are, and then attack those clean-up days with an otherwise clear calendar …
Great in theory.
Then the phone rings or an email of great importance disturbs my flow – but less of that lately, but as you might expect, my to-do list and to-call list for next Saturday is going to be brutal.
