NO GOING BACK
Sunday June 26, 2016
Are things bad enough we should be escaping earth to live on another planet? There are people signing up in hopes they’ll be selected to colonize Mars. If you think things are really bad, you have a way out. Many would echo ‘life is short’ so, if we wait, everybody has a way out.
So, stay, or leave?
Not earth …
Is fate of Brits inside or outside that European Union such a big deal?
Not to point my fingers only at media, but the loud noise of news cycle is drowning out thinking. Doesn’t come close to oppression of people in Venezuela or tribal warfare/genocides in Africa or terrorism …. anywhere. Events happen. Life doesn’t have a reverse gear. We might forgive or say ‘we forgot’ but we don’t go back to the way things were – ever. This isn’t a Newtonian law, but it ought to be.
Any of us can be a movement, an agent of change – a catalyst for something evolving, improving. We can vote with our feet, rally others to our viewpoint – but first we need to have one …
Whether we are going through our own lives, or a nation is going through its own history – there is no going back. We endure floods, wildfires, severe storms. Poverty and disease. There is a Brexit. There is a Trump. There was a ‘Sixties’. Not that going forward always feels equivalent to progress, we perceive it is.
Everything else, adjustment. In all situations, we adjust to change. Whether we embrace/cope or fight it, we adjust. Or fix it.
Humans, no different that critters we evolved from, adapt to change.

morning walk with Gusta: 13C/56F, another drizzly overcast day (I’m shuttered … working on some projects; always easier to take when it is gloomy lookin’ outside); Gusta had a long lazy walk, lots of sniffing now that the deep grass is mown – or maybe she thought I needed a longer than usual walk to clear my head … because I did.
