Things rarely work out just swimmingly because we wanted them to. Life can be a cruel game of ebbs and flows. The reality of life is the absurdity of life – and every time we wake up there is a fresh pound of ripe material setting us up for a stand-up comedy act or to write a soap-opera tragedy.
If I expect soft breezes and sunshine, then that is what I’ll see – even on a rainy day.
When we expect cold and pain and difficulty – that’s what we’ll feel regardless of weather or calendar.
Waking up to sunshine or rain, is real but not the same thing as waking up to reality.
