BEWARE THE IDES OF …
Thursday Mar. 15, 2018
Yesterday was: Pi day (3/14), dribble to work day (for women’s NCAA fans), and potato chip day.
Today: Ides of March (15th a.k.a. Brutus Day), Buzzards Day, True Confessions Day, World Consumer Rights Day – and World Speech Day.
Tomorrow is ‘World Sleep Day’, though don’t use that as a reason to book off work.
Just browse Days of the Year . ‘Month names’ too!
March is: Umbrella Month, Cheerleading Safety Month, Caffeine Awareness Month, Credit Education Month, International Ideals Month, Craft Month, Women’s History Month, Nutrition Month, Multiple Sclerosis Month, Peanut Month, Kidney Month, Hemophilia Awareness Month, and Social Work Month.
Scanning ahead I checked out my birthday, August 7: Lighthouse Day, Particularly Preposterous Packaging Day and … wait for it, Professional Speakers Day. Who knew?
I’ve not yet found a Bad Choices Day or Good Choices Month. I’m sure they are there, somewhere.
Better yet, maybe I could create a companion business; on-line greeting cards for each of those ‘days’ and ‘months’ we celebrate. OK, not WE, but certainly somebody out there sees themselves as a group of special folks needing attention and recognition …
Meanwhile, I’ll focus on working my way through today, tomorrow and whatever comes along …
Seems to me that more than knowing/celebrating, what day it is, it seems more important to know ‘who I am going to be today’.
What is your purpose in life?
We should know that, shouldn’t we?
If we spend a lot of time figuring that out – and still don’t know, we should spend more time on it because it seems so incredibly important.
Where are we going?
Are we there yet?
