UNCOMMON SENSES
Tuesday Mar 21, 2017
We’ve got: sight, taste, touch, hearing, smell.
I’ve got the first four, but missing that last one.
I’m alright.
What about the others –speaking of senses, you know them all – right?
What about: pressure, balance, sensing heath and cold (thermoception), itch, tension, pain, ‘where your body parts are in relation to other parts’ (proprioception), balance (equilibrioception), thirst, hunger, time. What are you sensing now? Understanding?
Yes, understanding – I sense that, which has nothing to do with intellect or emotion – just knowing that we know something makes all other senses seem relevant, especially one called balance. And how about this last one: common sense? Normal to feel normal, to sense everything – means we are alive, still ticking, and feeling whether or not we are clicking.
The common cold is everywhere, but where is common sense hanging out?
