ROI – RETURN ON 10 MINUTE INVESTMENTS
Tuesday, March 23, 2021 - daily column #6706
Just ten more minutes. Remember, when we were kids – we didn’t want to be get up, we’d beg for “just ten more minutes.” We’d echo the same “just ten more minutes” to delay bedtime.
I have no one to ask, no obligation to tell, when I need just ten more minutes on something.
And, like kids begging more time, it’s never just ten.
Sometimes, an hour. Or two.
Needing more time, taking more, to do what must be done.
To write what must be written – or think through what must be thought through.
Sometimes this feels like I’ve gone down an endless rabbit hole of distraction.
More often, it is recognizing something isn’t finished yet, isn’t done just right yet, and we want it to be nearer my ‘best work’ standard.
That requires investing more time.
