Nearly everything we ever did physically is now either simplified by innovation or replaced by technology or at least aided by science and better manufacture. We are bombarded by marketers and trends – to get the newest gee-gaw thingamajig doodad – not in something physical, but an APP.
Some things just cannot be techie’d up – like a nap.
Seriously, I’m trying to simplify – but still have an iPhone and three computers in three workplaces. I have three televisions – one for bedroom, living room and office. I have three forms of calendaring I use and two that I don’t. And I have a calendar on the wall, one on my desk. I have a dozen places I can instantly get the approximate time (+/- a minute or two) and two where it is way-wrong all the time (coffee maker and dash of my vehicle) because I’m not interested enough to get competent at re-setting them – yet I don’t wear a wrist watch anymore.
