Boiled down, reduced – how it was, sun’s rays focused by small boy’s magnifying glass, honed-in, burning …

I wonder about that, a lot. I don’t have a clip-board, stop watch and a lab coat – but if I did, to observe myself, I think I would be making comments about attention span, energy levels and feeding times – as I was an observed rat working through a maze of my day …

Can we make ourselves that focused?

What causes that quality of focus and concentration of effort?

Is it our intellectual decision to do it, or our passion for the subject?

morning walk:  1C/33F, clear calm crisp, like celery fresh from the fridge – when does life ever feel better than fresh starts of a great day coming on the heels of a great day; I explained this to Gusta as we walked but she seemed more interested in sniffing things along the car dealer’s fence, focused on something more interesting, and smelly, than me …
